The team at Resurface North would like to acknowledge that we gather for our retreats in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.
White Point Beach Resort falls withing the ancient district of Kespukwitk in Nova Scotia and includes Annapolis, Digby, Queens, Shelburne and Yarmouth Counties. Kespukwitk translated into English means “the lands ending or end of territorial”.
This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725. Treaties established relationships and fair trade, not the surrender or transfer of land. We recognize that we all have responsibilities to each other and this land.
